![]() ![]() However, what we get is a privileged white male who thinks the end justifies the means, and so if he needs a teenage transgenic getting shot at on his runs for the runs to happen. I'm sure we were eventually going to find out more about the tragic backstory that led to his single-minded obsession with furthering justice in a broken world. Michael Weatherly is doing a fantastic job portraying him though.ĮDIT: Just to add: Logan's uncle sums it up nicely in "I and I am a Camera" when he tells Logan: "On a clear day, I bet you can really see the class struggle from that penthouse of yours." after handing him a bunch of money. I'm almost at the end of my season 1 rewatch and I can't remember how this continues but so far I'm quite disappointed with Logan. Logan already knew this and he knows that Max is so much more than that, yet he still spends yet another episode being cold and distant to Max. He does this merely by reminding him of the fact Max was made to be a soldier/killing machine. Then Lydecker plants the idea in Logan's head that he can't trust Max. Max tries to ignore it playfully and get him to eat dinner first, but he refuses. One time Max made a nice dinner for them that she'd put a lot of effort into, Logan shows up and forces her to do a job for him instead. He's putting his insecurities above their relationship. He doesn't confide in her when he's got problems with his legs, even when it means coming across as hostile toward her and turning her away. ![]() This comes out most of the time because of his insecurity about not being able to walk, despite Max explicitly telling him that she's accepting him the way he is. Maybe I was too young back then, but he's definitely being a massive douche to Max in almost every episode. I first watched the show 20 years ago and recently started a rewatch for the first time since then and I suddenly see Logan very different from what I remembered him too. The Jam Pony crew deserved more screen time then him. Logan is an egocentric, selfish, white privileged male with a hero complex who thinks his life is over when a lot of people out there have it a lot worse than he does. Now if anyone likes them together then that's cool, I just honestly can't stand Logan as a character and Max honestly could do so much better! This whole 'romantic' relationship is unnecessary and I honestly think the plot would've done just fine without it. Logan puts her life at risk, doesn't care enough about her own personal life or the people in it, gets annoyed when Max isn't dependent on him 'cause he needs to be the strong man, doesn't know boundaries and expects her to be at his every beck and call- and don't even get me started on the age difference! Max is still very young (19 if I recall) and Logan is a man in his 30s. Nothing about his relationship with Max is healthy. I recently started watching Dark Angel (not going to lie, that decision is purely because of Jensen Ackles) and mind you- I'm not done the first season yet (just watched Shortie's In Love last night) and I can't help but feel annoyed every time Logan is on screen. ![]()
